The TTRPG will comprise a lavishly illustrated, hardback core book containing guidelines for players who want to play the RuneScape tabletop roleplaying game which allows players to build themselves characters and discover Gielinor and make interesting and original adventures. The TTRPG book's core is fully compatible with the fifth edition ruleset for Dungeons & Dragons.

The RuneScape games will be Steamforged's twelfth adaptation of a video game designed for tabletop. Some of the previous versions include that of Monster Hunter: World board game, which made PS3.4 million on Kickstarter in 2021.

The trade of virtual currencies for real-world money can cause problems for a variety of online games, disrupting in-game economies, unbalancing player experiences and making games win-to-win opportunities. In RuneScape the trading in the virtual gold has been a problem with bots mining the resourceand accusations that the option to purchase in-game bonds for real-world currency amounts to gambling.

Now, Jagex has laid out plans in order to address the issue. In a blog article with the name "The RuneScape Team", Jagex states that "gold purchased via RWT is a major issue for any online game that has an option to trade currency" The company also states that the "Anti-Cheating Team has done a lot to combat RWT sellers both in and out of the game" the company will be taking stronger measures with immediate start.

The company cites an "growing team and improved methods", Jagex says it will no longer just be targeting sellers of gold and sources through RWT but as buyers. The intention is to stem the demand, and the supply.

Jagex has announced that it will start sending "messages to players who we've identified as being involved within the RWT" within "the coming hours". "For anyone who was involved, we want to make it clear that this is your one und only caution," the company added.
